CVS Will No Longer Donate to America First Policies

CVS Pharmacy said it will no longer donate money to America First Policies in light of pro-Nazi and other derogatory remarks made by some of the nonprofit’s policy advisers, according to CNN. “Comments made by employees of America First Policies that were reported after we made our contributions are unacceptable to us,” said the pharmacy chain, which donated $500,000 to the controversial group. “We have zero tolerance for discriminatory actions or behaviors, and as such we will not be making contributions to this organization in the future.” The donation was first discovered by MapLight, which also found that Southern Company and Dow Chemical made donations to the pro-Trump group. CVS claims it donates to groups across the political spectrum, and said it donated to America First “in support of the 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act.” Mediaite published video of policy adviser Juan Pablo Andrade praising Nazis last month, and CNN also reported that John Loudon—another adviser—called former President Barack Obama the “Islamchurian candidate” in a collection of tweets.
