Teen Dies After Setting Off Explosive at Russian FSB Security HQ

    Reuters

A teenager has died after setting off explosives at an office of Russia’s FSB security service in Arkhangelsk in what Kremlin officials are describing as a terrorist attack. Russia’s anti-terrorism committee said the suspect was a 17-year-old local resident who had gone into the building with an “unidentified object that exploded in his hands.” Three FSB employees were hurt and the explosion reportedly caused serious damage to the building. The BBC reports that an unverified message was allegedly posted by the suspect in which the user says he’s an anarcho-communist and hits out at the secret intelligence service, which he says “fabricates cases and tortures people.” Arkhangelsk is around 750 miles north of Moscow.
