Trump Claims to Know ‘Nothing’ About WikiLeaks—Years After Saying ‘I Love’ It

Hours after Julian Assange was arrested in London, President Trump said that “I know nothing about WikiLeaks. It’s not my thing”—but he took a different tone two years ago at a campaign rally in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania. “WikiLeaks, I love WikiLeaks,” Trump said at the time. He’s also reportedly said “This WikiLeaks is like a treasure trove” and “Boy, I love reading WikiLeaks.” The president’s comments come just hours after the U.S. issued an extradition warrant for WikiLeaks’ founder, Julian Assange, who was yanked from the Ecuadorian embassy in London by British police early this morning. Assange stands accused of conspiring with Chelsea Manning to hack government computers.
