Trump Says He May Send Up to 15,000 Troops to Border

President Donald Trump told reporters Wednesday that he may send as many as 15,000 military troops to the U.S.-Mexican border in response to the migrant caravan that’s still hundreds of miles away, the Associated Press reports. Trump reportedly said his administration would “go up to anywhere between 10 and 15,000 military personnel on top of Border Patrol, ICE and everybody else at the border.” The caravan is reportedly still about 1,000 miles away from the southern border. “Nobody’s coming in. We’re not allowing people to come in,” Trump insisted. There are reportedly 2,100 National Guard troops currently at the border, and the Pentagon announced this week that it would send an additional 5,200 troops.
